Delete your account
Deleting your Recap account removes every recording, transcript, summary, action item and chat thread, along with your profile. It cannot be undone.
In the app (immediate)
- Open Recap and go to the Settings tab.
- Tap Account.
- Under Delete account, type
DELETEto confirm, then tap Delete my account.
Your data is removed from our servers straight away and you are signed out on every device. You can create a new account with the same email later, but it will start empty.
By email (if you no longer have the app)
Send a message to support@recap.app from the email address you sign in with, asking us to delete your account. We will confirm by replying to that address, so that nobody else can delete your account, and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your account and email address.
- All audio recordings, including those still waiting to be processed.
- All transcripts, speaker names, summaries, action items, folders and chat history.
- Search embeddings derived from your notes.
- Your push notification token and settings.
What may remain, and for how long
- Copies in database backups are overwritten within 30 days.
- Crash reports and product analytics events are kept for up to 90 days. They are linked to an opaque identifier, not to your email or your content.
- Records we must keep to meet a legal obligation, for as long as that obligation lasts.
Deleting a single note instead
If you only want to remove one recording, swipe the note in the list or open it and choose Delete. Our Privacy policy describes what is removed with a note and how long audio is kept otherwise.
